The Sue Wedel Memorial Walk Run Wheel 5k is our annual spring kick-off. Traditionally seen as the season of renewal and hope, this event honors those same values that were embodied by our friend, Sue Wedel, and reminds us all that many in our community still need hope and assistance as they work to overcome the barriers of poverty. As a Laramie resident, Sue was actively involved in the work so many of our nonprofit partners do addressing the needs of community. Sue was a Laramie Interfaith board member for numerous years, a champion for causes in our community, and participated in many of our past 5K events before her passing in 2015 – she was the spirit our motto: Neighbors helping neighbors.

The WRW takes place the last Sunday of April and starts at Laramie Interfaith, 712 E. Canby St. and heads north through La Bonte Park up 9^th Street before coming back to our location. The race will be run in most weather types, but snow, ice, or other hazards conditions may force us to postpone this event. April in Laramie is always unpredictable. Those who wish to participate, but not run, can take their time walking around La Bonte Park (its early enough in the year to avoid any hint of the “Stink Lake” nickname). Water and snacks are provided at the race end along with finishing times, and crossing guards are positioned along the race where necessary if the course crosses any streets. Tours and information about Laramie Interfaith, our services, and building will also be available.
